Start with the rigid sections and work from the stove to the wall.

Installing wood stove pipe through concrete wall.

Installation of the stove pipe is the same as for vertical installation. Apply construction adhesive on the inner face of the inside collar. Last fasten each section of stovepipe with self tapping screws. Insert the horizontal section of pipe through the walls so the inner end is about three inches from the face of the inside wall.

Install your stove pipe. Builders use many techniques to run pipe through concrete block walls but the easiest and most efficient way is to use a core drill. Make a 3 inch thick wall made of bricks against any combustible wall to which you want to pass the stove pipe. Take that number and multiply by 3 and use that to determine the stove pipe s clearance from the wall.

Then connect it to the wall thimble. Have 12 inches of space between the combustible and brick walls. Local code or your insurance may have an opinion but if it doesn t have any combustible material in the wall it should be doable for less than 450 to get through the wall. Step 4 install the stove pipe.

Step 3 make a wall. For example if the pipe s diameter is 8 inches then the clearance should be 24 inches.
